Office Manager / Finance Manager - Construction

We are seeking an experienced Office Manager / Finance Manager to oversee the day-to-day administration and financial operations of a busy construction office based in Newcastle upon Tyne. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the office while managing financial processes including CIS and VAT payments. This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in a construction environment who is confident handling finance, compliance, and office operations. Key Responsibilities * Oversee the daily administration and management of the office * Manage company financial processes including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations * Administer Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) deductions and submissions * Prepare and manage VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements * Maintain accurate financial records and assist with budgeting and reporting * Process subcontractor payments and maintain subcontractor records * Liaise with accountants, suppliers, and subcontractors * Manage office systems, documentation, and internal procedures * Support senior management with operational and financial reporting Requirements * Proven experience managing an office within the construction industry * Strong knowledge of CIS and VAT processes * Experience with bookkeeping, invoicing, and financial administration * Excellent organisational and administrative skills * Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks * Experience using accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar) is desirable * Strong communication and problem-solving skills What’s on Offer * Competitive salary package * Stable, long-term position within a growing construction company * Friendly and supportive working environment * Opportunity to play a key role in the running of the business
