SEND Teaching Assistant - Newcastle

We are working with a wide range of primary schools, secondary schools, and specialist SEND provisions across Newcastle and the surrounding areas, who are looking for dedicated SEND Teaching Assistants to join them on a short-term, long-term, and permanent basis.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs
• Work with students with a range of needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
• Support students both inside and outside of the classroom
• Help implement EHCPs and tailored learning strategies
• Build positive relationships to support emotional and academic development
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals

• Have experience working with children or young people with SEND (or a strong interest in this area)
• Are patient, empathetic, and resilient
• Have strong communication and behaviour management skills
• Come from transferable backgrounds (care, support work, youth work, psychology graduates, etc.)
• Are passionate about making a difference in education

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
