Field Service Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join one of our well-respected clients within the material handling sector. This is a field-based role ideal for an engineer who enjoys autonomy, problem-solving, and delivering excellent customer service. Role Overview * Service, maintain, and repair forklifts at customer sites * Ensure equipment operates safely, efficiently, and reliably * Represent the company professionally while working independently in the field Key Responsibilities * Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance in line with safety standards * Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults * Respond to breakdown calls, resolving issues quickly to minimise downtime * Communicate clearly with customers, providing progress updates and equipment advice * Complete accurate service reports and maintain detailed records of work and parts used Skills & Experience * Proven experience servicing and repairing forklifts or similar heavy equipment * Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems * Confident fault-finding and problem-solving abilities * Professional, customer-focused communication skills * Ability to manage workload and priorities in a field-based environment Desirable Experience * Background in HGV maintenance or repair * Transferable skills in mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostics What’s On Offer * Competitive salary with overtime opportunities * Fully equipped service vehicle * Ongoing training and career development * Pension scheme and additional employee benefits * Opportunity to work with a highly regarded organisation in the material handling industry
