What is an ARP? (Additionally Resourced Provision)
An ARP (Additionally Resourced Provision) is a specialist provision within a mainstream school, designed to support pupils with additional needs who may require more structured or targeted support than can usually be provided in a standard classroom setting.
Pupils in an ARP are still part of the wider school community, but they may access learning through a more personalised approach, which can include:
Smaller group teaching
- Individual support plans
- Communication and sensory support
- Structured routines and targeted interventions
- Support with emotional regulation and social development
The aim of an ARP is to help pupils thrive academically and emotionally, while also encouraging inclusion and access to mainstream learning wherever appropriate.
