Newcastle City Council is on the hunt for a dynamic Social Work Assistant Team Manager to provide agency cover within our energetic Care Leavers Team. This pivotal role is all about supporting young people aged 18-25 as they embark on their journey towards independence. Here, you will offer operational leadership, manage day-to-day activities, and provide essential support to our Personal Advisers and Leaving Care Support Officers, ensuring top-notch, timely, and outcome-focused support. This role can be either full-time or part-time, offering you the flexibility to balance work with life's other adventures.

What you will do:

* Provide operational leadership and manage day-to-day activities of the Care Leaver Team.

* Supervise and guide staff through reflective supervision, complex case support, and performance management.

* Ensure practices adhere to statutory requirements and strengths-based Pathway Planning duties.

* Manage casework quality, decision-making processes, and risk management effectively.

* Support joint working with housing, health, education, employment, and commissioned services.

* Contribute to service improvement initiatives, audit processes, and performance reporting.

* Deputise for the Team Manager when required.
