SEND Teaching Assistant

Our client, a highly regarded educational institution in Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear, is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a crucial role in supporting the academic and personal growth of students with diverse learning needs.
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside our client's talented team of educators, therapists, and support staff to provide personalised, compassionate care and assistance to students. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, supporting individual students with their educational activities, facilitating small group sessions, and collaborating with the wider team to implement tailored learning plans. The salary range for this full-time position is £90 - £110 per day, making it a competitive and rewarding opportunity.

To be successful in this role, you should have the following qualifications and experience:
- Relevant educational or SEND-related qualifications, such as a teaching assistant or learning support certificate
- Previous experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, preferably in an educational setting
- A strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and the ability to effectively implement and monitor individualised learning plans
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the personal and academic growth of students with SEND
- The ability to adapt your teaching and support strategies to meet the unique needs of each student
