GSL Education are seeking a resilient, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Assistant with PRU (Pupil Referral Unit) experience to join a supportive and forward-thinking alternative provision setting in Newcastle . This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people with additional behavioural, emotional, and social needs.

Your Role as a PRU Teaching Assistant (TA):

* Support students with SEMH, behavioural challenges, and additional learning needs.
* Work one-to-one or in small groups to help students engage with learning.
* Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities.
* Promote positive behaviour and help implement behaviour support plans.
* Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to encourage progress and confidence.
* Support students' emotional wellbeing and personal development.
* Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality, and school policies always.

What You'll Need as a PRU Teaching Assistant (TA):

* Previous experience working in a PRU, alternative provision, or SEMH setting (essential).
* A calm, patient, and consistent approach to behaviour management.
* Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
* The ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
* An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
