Role Overview
The Office & HR Administrator supports the smooth running of daily operations across both administrative and HR functions. This role involves managing day‑to‑day office tasks, confidently handling phone and email enquiries, coordinating recruitment activities, and maintaining accurate records.
You will work closely with the wider team to ensure efficient communication, organised processes, and a professional experience for staff, candidates, and external partners. Strong Microsoft Office skills are essential, as you will regularly use Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily office administration and ensure smooth operational support
- Answer phone calls confidently and professionally, directing queries as needed
- Respond to emails promptly and accurately
- Support HR and recruitment processes, including:
- Posting job adverts
- Screening CVs
- Contacting candidates
- Arranging interviews
- Maintaining recruitment trackers
- Assist with onboarding tasks such as preparing documents, collecting ID, and updating staff files
- Maintain organised digital and paper filing systems
- Create and update spreadsheets, reports, and templates using Microsoft Excel
- Prepare letters, forms, and documents using Microsoft Word
- Support diary management, meeting scheduling, and room bookings
- Assist with data entry, record keeping, and HR database updates
- Liaise with staff, suppliers, and external partners when required
- Provide general administrative support to management
The Ideal Candidate
- Willing to learn, proactive, and able to take initiative without waiting for instruction
- Confident communicator with a professional telephone manner
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and prioritising effectively
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- Able to draft clear, professional emails and documents
- Friendly, approachable, and able to build positive relationships
- Comfortable speaking with candidates, staff, and external partners
- Previous admin or HR experience is beneficial but not essential for someone who is eager to develop
