Newcastle upon Tyne

About Us:

Seriös Group are a fast-growing UK-based tech start-up specialising in delivery of innovative high quality data solutions. Our mission is to empower organisations to take control of their data, delivering rapid value to enterprise-level clients without compromise, while building a proprietary data platform framework (Seriös ONE) to transform how businesses manage and leverage data. Our dynamic, collaborative team thrives on delivering exceptional results for our clients and driving innovation in the data space.

Role Overview:

We are seeking a Delivery Manager to provide program and project management of our professional services. Reporting directly to the Head of Professional Services, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.

This role requires a highly skilled project management professional with a strong background in managing complex data solution projects. Experience working in an agency or consultancy environment and familiarity with tools like Jira are highly advantageous. The ideal candidate will be adept at balancing customer needs, project constraints and team capabilities to ensure seamless delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project & Programme Management:

  • Lead the end-to-end management of multiple bespoke and partnership professional services projects.

  • Define project scopes, goals, deliverables, and success criteria in collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.

  • Manage project timelines, budgets, resources, and risks to ensure successful delivery.

2. Customer & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers during project delivery, ensuring clear and consistent communication.

  • Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and translate them into actionable project plans.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring satisfaction and identifying opportunities for future engagements.

3. Team Coordination & Collaboration:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, solution architects, and QA testers, to ensure seamless project execution.

  • Facilitate daily stand-ups, planning sessions, and retrospectives to maintain project momentum and team alignment.

  • Ensure that project teams are effectively resourced and supported throughout the project lifecycle.

4. Process & Methodology Management:

  • Implement and maintain project management best practices, ensuring consistency and efficiency across all projects.

  • Leverage Jira for project tracking, task management, and reporting, ensuring transparency and accountability.

  • Continuously refine and improve delivery processes based on feedback and lessons learned.

5. Risk Management & Issue Resolution:

  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise impact.

  • Proactively manage and resolve project issues, ensuring minimal disruption to delivery timelines.

  • Escalate critical issues to the Head of Professional Services when necessary, providing clear context and potential solutions.

6. Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement:

  • Ensure that all project deliverables meet the company’s quality standards and client expectations.

  • Conduct project post-mortems to identify areas for improvement and implement changes for future projects.

  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the delivery teams.

The above list is non-exhaustive; you may be required to carry out any ancillary duties in relation to your role, in addition to the abovementioned list.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager or Project Manager in a professional services, agency, or consultancy environment.

  • Strong project management skills, with a solid understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.

  • Experience managing data solution projects is highly advantageous.

  • Familiarity with project management tools, particularly Jira, is preferred.

  • Relevant project management certifications (e.g., PRINCE2, Agile) are a plus.

Person Specification:

  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to risk management and issue resolution.

  • Excellent customer-facing and internal communication skills.

  • A focus on quality and delivery whilst balancing strong team ethics.

  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The Employer reserves the right to make amends to the job specification from time to time, to meet the needs of the business.
