Learning Support Assistant (LSA) - KS1 Primary School

A friendly and supportive primary school in Forest Hall is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their KS1 team. Location: Forest Hall, North Tyneside Role: Learning Support Assistant (KS1) Start Date: ASAP / Next Term Contract: Full-time, term-time only (potential long-term opportunity) The Role As a KS1 Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to help pupils access learning, build confidence, and make progress in the classroom. You may be supporting small groups or providing targeted 1:1 support depending on pupil needs. Key responsibilities include: Supporting learning across KS1 (Year 1 and/or Year 2)Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils who need additional helpAssisting with phonics, early reading, writing and number skillsSupporting pupils with SEND, SEMH or speech and language needs (where applicable)Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional regulationHelping to create a calm, engaging and inclusive learning environmentSupporting the class teacher with preparation, resources, and classroom routines The Ideal Candidate We are looking for an LSA who is patient, reliable, and confident supporting children in KS1.
