About the Role

The successful candidate will lead the English department and oversee the delivery of English Language and Literature across KS3 & KS4. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of teaching and learning while supporting the development of staff and students alike.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing the English department across KS3 & KS4

• Driving high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment

• Monitoring student progress and implementing strategies to raise attainment

• Supporting and mentoring members of the English team

• Overseeing curriculum development and departmental planning

• Ensuring students are well prepared for GCSE examinations

Alongside departmental leadership, you will maintain a teaching timetable and model outstanding classroom practice.

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)

• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature

• Experience teaching English across KS3 & KS4

• Proven leadership experience or readiness to step into a Head of Department role
