Maths Teacher | Newcastle
We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Maths Teacher to join a good-rated secondary school in Newcastle. Role Overview:
As a Maths Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will work collaboratively within the mathematics department to develop resources, implement effective teaching strategies, and monitor student progress. Your work will ensure students build confidence in mathematics, develop problem-solving skills, and achieve excellent academic outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality mathematics lessons in line with the school curriculum.
Assess and monitor student progress, providing timely feedback and support.
Develop teaching resources, lesson plans, and departmental schemes of work.
Maintain a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment.
Support extra-curricular activities, including mathematics clubs, competitions, and enrichment opportunities.
Contribute to reporting, assessment, and preparation for examinations.
Collaborate with colleagues to share best practice and support departmental initiatives.
Uphold the school’s safeguarding, health and safety, and behaviour policies.
Skills and Experience:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in mathematics or a related subject.
Strong subject knowledge across all areas of the mathematics curriculum.
Excellent classroom management, organisational, and communication skills.
Ability to inspire, motivate, and challenge students of varying abilities.
Experience in assessment, curriculum planning, and tracking student progress.
Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
