Senior Radiotherapy Engineer
Contribute to the delivery of the technological components of the radiotherapy service and assist in maintaining and developing high standards. Provide professional technological leadership within designated areas of expertise Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of clinical and organisational strategies Participate in service improvement and staff development activities Take responsibility for specialist project areas as required Contribute to the engineering rota covering a 7day service REG engineers are responsible for ensuring that radiotherapy treatment machines operate safely and effectively, enabling uninterrupted patient treatment. This includes applying advanced faultfinding skills, engineering expertise, and IT knowledge to minimise clinical downtime, performing both planned preventative and unplanned corrective maintenance, and providing essential technical input to the wider multidisciplinary radiotherapy team. REG works closely with clinical and scientific radiotherapy teams to maintain a balanced and responsive service. Assists in maintaining and developing high standards of service provision throughout their area of responsibility. Assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring clinical and organisational strategies within areas of expertise. Contributes to service and staff development. Responsibilities in specialist project areas Participates in roster covering 7-day working week.
