- Contract: 12‑month Fixed Term Contract (Potential Permanent Conversion)
- Salary: £45,000 - £60,000

About the Opportunity
We’re hiring Scala Software Engineers to join a high‑performing team working on large‑scale, business‑critical systems.
This role is ideal for engineers with strong hands‑on Scala experience who enjoy working on complex platforms, contributing to modern engineering practices, and delivering secure, scalable solutions at scale. The role comes with a potential to convert to a permanent position after 12 months, subject to performance and business need.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Designing, developing, and maintaining Scala‑based applications
- Building and enhancing services using the Play Framework
- Working across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements through to deployment
- Collaborating with cross‑functional teams including developers, testers, DevOps, and product owners
- Writing clean, well‑tested, and maintainable code
- Supporting CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices
- Troubleshooting issues and contributing to continuous improvement
- Working within Agile delivery teams aligned to modern engineering standards

Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Strong hands‑on commercial experience with Scala
- Experience working with the Play Framework
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail

- Security Clearance (SC) eligibility is highly preferred, but not essential
