Senior Science Technician – Lead Lab Management and Oversee Junior Technician Team – Newcastle

A large, high-achieving academy in Newcastle is seeking an experienced and dedicated Senior Science Technician to lead the technical support team from January 2026.

• Senior Science Technician required from January 2026.

• Seeking an experienced leader to manage the prep team, technical budget, and operational safety .

You will lead a team of two subject-specific technicians, managing the entire suite of Science laboratories and prep rooms. The role includes overseeing stock control, budget input, maintaining compliance with safety regulations, and ensuring seamless practical support for all key stages, especially A-Level.

Experience and Qualifications

• Significant experience working as a Science Technician, with prior experience in a supervisory or senior capacity .
• Expert knowledge of CLEAPSS procedures and statutory safety requirements.
• Proven ability to manage a team, delegate tasks, and organize staff rotas effectively.
• Strong organizational skills for high-level stock and budget management.
