Audit Partner - Newcastle
A highly regarded and ambitious mid-tier accountancy firm in Newcastle is seeking an Audit Partner to join its senior leadership team. This is a high-impact, strategic role, leading a significant audit portfolio of clients of varying sizes, from owner-managed businesses to larger SMEs, while shaping the firm's growth and future direction. The position is ideal for an experienced Audit Director or Partner ready to take on greater responsibility, influence decision-making at the top level, and make a real difference to a progressive practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a diverse audit portfolio, ensuring excellence in delivery and client service.
- Build and strengthen senior client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and first point of contact.
- Drive business development, securing new audit and assurance work and expanding existing client relationships.
- Provide technical oversight, ensuring compliance with UK auditing standards and internal quality controls.
- Inspire, mentor, and develop the audit team, fostering talent and supporting succession planning.
Qualifications/Experience Required:
- RI status with a recognised UK professional body (e.g. ICAEW or ACCA) with experience at Director or Partner level.
- Extensive technical audit expertise and up-to-date regulatory knowledge.
- Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
- Strong leadership experience with the ability to manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
- Commercially astute, proactive, and collaborative, with the ambition to influence firm strategy and growth.
