Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Design and Technology (DT) Teacher to join our vibrant educational community. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in nurturing creativity, critical thinking, and practical skills among our students. Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement comprehensive DT curriculum that aligns with educational standards and fosters students' growth in design thinking and technical proficiency.
- Deliver engaging and interactive lessons across various DT disciplines, including product design, electronics, textiles, and engineering, catering to diverse learning styles and abilities.
- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to explore their creative potential and take ownership of their learning journey.
- Employ a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies to gauge student progress and provide timely, constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with fellow educators to develop interdisciplinary projects and enrichment activities that integrate DT concepts with other subject areas, promoting cross-curricular learning opportunities.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, methodologies, and technologies in DT education and industry practices, incorporating relevant advancements into the instructional framework.
- Actively participate in departmental meetings, parent consultations, and school-wide events to foster a collaborative and cohesive learning community.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Possession of Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Demonstrated experience teaching DT at the secondary level, with a proven track record of student achievement and engagement.
- Thorough understanding of DT curriculum frameworks, assessment methodologies, and pedagogical best practices.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and a commitment to staying abreast of current educational research and methodologies.
