Apprentice Orthotic Technician

Summary

In this role, you will be trained in the manufacture of handmade medical devices, such as insoles, shoes, braces, and adaptations for wheelchairs. This is not a ‘typical’ manufacturing environment, and you will be expected to learn several traditional craft-based techniques using hand tools, so manual dexterity is preferable.

Wage

£16,224 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age

National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices

The company intend to increase the hourly wage before the end of the 8 month programme, subject to satisfactory performance.

Day shift working a variety of shift patterns across Monday to Friday. Times to be confirmed.

Essential qualifications

GCSE in:

• English Language (grade 4)
• Maths (grade 4)
