We are seeking a creative, organised and enthusiastic Art Technician to join a vibrant secondary school in Newcastle upon Tyne. This is an exciting opportunity to support a dynamic art department and contribute to a creative and inspiring learning environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to prepare materials, maintain equipment and support students during practical art lessons. You will play a key role in ensuring that the department is well organised, safe and equipped to deliver high-quality teaching and learning.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for art and a strong understanding of a range of materials and techniques. You will need to be practical, organised and able to manage resources effectively while supporting students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and organise materials and equipment for lessons
• Support students during practical art activities
• Maintain studios and ensure health and safety compliance
• Manage stock and order supplies
• Assist with displays and exhibitions
• Support teachers in lesson preparation
Requirements
• Background or qualification in Art or a related field
• Strong practical knowledge of materials and techniques
• Excellent organisational skills
• Ability to work collaboratively
• Experience in a school or creative environment (desirable)
• Commitment to supporting student creativity
