Joining our team would provide a great opportunity to get involved in projects as varied as Coire Glas (Scotland), Koysha (Ethiopia) and Dinorwig (Wales), as well as supporting many of the UK water companies with inspections, remediation and development of dams. Our roles on projects include traditional advisory, Owner's Engineer, client facing concept design, contractor facing detailed design, remediation and troubleshooting, installation support and Lender's engineer / insurance / due diligence support.
As a Senior Project Manager you take on the management of hydropower projects - projects which are often large, complex, and often involving significant risk. You will proactively lead the team to successfully deliver objectives on time, to budget and to the appropriate quality; using your experience in hydropower projects, or as a minimum, large complex water and/or energy sector projects, to bring about positive project outcomes for clients and the community.
We can offer you many benefits including a competitive benefits package, a strong culture of learning and development, and a great environment to work in. As we look to further diversify and grow our wider Stantec UK business you will potentially be presented with future opportunities across our diversified business lines to further your career.
About You
You will be an experienced Project Manager - with demonstrable experience of managing complex projects within the hydropower, dams and/or energy sectors. You will most likely hold project management qualifications such as APM's PMQ or PMI's PMP.
You will bring extensive demonstrable core project management technical skills such as cost, schedule, risk, stakeholder, resource, governance management.
Experience working within a contractor organisation or on the consultancy side of large Design and Build projects would be advantageous but is not essential.
Above all, you will be highly motivated, diligent in your work and an exceptional planner, communicator, and leader. You will be hands-on and foster great team dynamics and working relationships and be emotionally intelligent when it comes to your own, your teams and your clients' feelings, concerns and well-being.
