A supportive and inclusive school in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a committed Pastoral Support professional to join their team. This Pastoral Support role is ideal for someone passionate about promoting pupil wellbeing, supporting positive behaviour, and helping young people overcome barriers to learning.

The successful Pastoral Support candidate will work closely with pupils, staff, and families to provide emotional and behavioural support, helping to create a safe and positive learning environment. This Pastoral Support opportunity offers the chance to make a real difference to pupils' attendance, engagement, and overall school experience.

Key Responsibilities of the Pastoral Support Role:

Providing day-to-day pastoral support to pupils across the school
Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management
Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Monitoring attendance, wellbeing, and engagement
Assisting with behaviour interventions and pastoral plans
Promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment

The Ideal Pastoral Support Candidate Will:

Have experience working with children or young people in an educational or support setting
Demonstrate strong communication and relationship-building skills
Be calm, resilient, and able to manage challenging situations effectively
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply)
Have a fully checkable work history
