The Role
Teaching Music across KS3 and KS4, including performance, composition, and appraising
Planning and delivering lessons that balance academic musicology with practical skill
Leading and coaching school ensembles, choirs, or orchestras
Supporting pupils with GCSE/A-Level coursework and examination preparation
Managing music technology suites and encouraging the use of software like Sibelius or Logic
Contributing to the school’s vibrant concert calendar and extracurricular rehearsals
Participating in the statutory ECT induction and professional development sessions
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
Currently working towards or recently completed Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
A strong degree in Music or Music Education
Exceptional instrumental or vocal skills and a commitment to extracurricular excellence
The ability to inspire students through a broad range of musical genres and traditions
Excellent communication skills and a high level of energy and enthusiasm
A reflective approach to teaching and a desire to grow professionally
