Commercial Manager (Energy)
- Provide commercial leadership on key programmes and strategic projects within the Energy business.
- Offer practical commercial advice, support and assurance to Discipline Leads across the full contract lifecycle, ensuring alignment with WSP governance requirements.
- Review bids to ensure they meet governance standards and support well managed, sustainable work winning.
- Work closely with Legal, Tax and Ethics & Compliance colleagues to review contractual arrangements, identify risks and support appropriate mitigation.
- Collaborate with bid modellers to ensure pricing aligns with client instructions, reflects WSP margin expectations and includes appropriate contingencies.
- Ensure appropriate sub consultancy and collaboration agreements are in place, with back to back terms and clear risk allocation.
- Support the review and drafting of contractual documents, including NDAs, MOUs and Teaming Agreements.
- Facilitate effective contract handovers, including the development of contract management plans and briefings for Project Directors on key wins.
- Participate in project reviews and provide ongoing commercial and contractual support during delivery.
- Promote commercial awareness and continuous improvement by reviewing processes and systems and supporting the implementation of improvements that enhance efficiency and performance.
- Manage and support Watch List items, with a focus on risk management, dispute avoidance, claims support and working capital recovery.
- A degree or equivalent professional experience in a relevant discipline, with membership of a relevant professional body welcomed but not essential (for example MCIPS, MRICS, MCIOB or similar).
- Substantial relevant experience in a similar role.
- Experience working with NEC forms of contract, with the confidence to apply them in practice and continue developing your knowledge.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage clearly and professionally with clients, stakeholders and project teams.
- An interest in digital innovation and how emerging tools and technologies can support improved commercial and project outcomes.
