Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 basic + uncapped commission

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and driven Area Sales Manager to join a rapidly growing and well-established business within the construction and building supplies sector. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a customer-facing sales environment, enjoys building strong relationships, and wants to be part of a supportive and expanding team. This position offers the chance to take ownership of a regional customer base while developing new business opportunities across the market. You will play a key role in strengthening relationships with existing customers while identifying opportunities to grow revenue through new accounts.

As Area Sales Manager, you will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of customers within your designated region. Your responsibilities will include:
• Building and maintaining long-term relationships with both new and existing customers
• Conducting regular site visits to understand customer needs and provide product solutions
• Identifying and developing new business opportunities within the construction and trade sectors
• Preparing and sending competitive quotations and following up to secure orders
• Raising and processing sales orders efficiently
• Sourcing products and coordinating with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met
• Managing and growing an existing customer base while expanding market presence
• Providing excellent customer service and acting as a trusted advisor to clients
• Monitoring market trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will be a motivated sales professional with strong relationship-building skills and a proactive approach to business development.
You will ideally have:
• Previous experience in a field sales or account management role
• A background within builders’ merchants, construction supplies, or related industries
• A good understanding of consumable building products
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to manage your own schedule and work independently
• A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering excellent service
