Our Tier 1 civil engineering client is delivering a £2.9 billion nuclear construction programme, supporting the safe decommissioning and future operations of a nationally significant site. Your duties and responsibilities will be:
Lead and manage day-to-day construction activities on-site, ensuring delivery against programme, budget, and quality targets.
Embed nuclear safety culture and ensure compliance with client standards and ONR regulations.
Manage site teams and subcontractors, fostering collaboration and high performance.
Monitor progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure all works meet specifications and nuclear quality documentation requirements.
Champion health, safety, and environmental compliance under CDM and nuclear site licence conditions.
Liaise with client representatives, regulators, and internal teams to resolve technical challenges.
Provide accurate progress reports and forecasts to senior management.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
Proven experience delivering major infrastructure projects in regulated environments (nuclear preferred).
Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and UK nuclear safety regulations.
CSCS, SMSTS, and relevant nuclear safety training (e.g., Nuclear Safety Passport).
Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following:
Experience in reinforced concrete structures and heavy civil works.
Previous involvement in nuclear or high-hazard projects.
Familiarity with digital construction tools and BIM.
